Art Museum Trail

Spring time flowers really make my day. Anytime, anyday. If I see flowers during the cold gloomy winter, I will be a happy girl too. I think it's a girl thing to love bright colourful flowers under the radiant sun.

It is now slowly inching into the summer, and the weather is turning super hot. As much as people who have experience miserable cold winter love the sun, I, who just arrived from Malaysia isn't exactly trilled about perspiring and feeling sticky whole day. "Wait till winter comes" says Aaron to me who disapprove my complaints about the hot weather, "wait till you go back Malaysia and live there" I say. Then again, I might love the sun much more next year. We'll see.

So what else is interesting in Philadelphia? Oh loads. Not taking into account the places I couldn't visit due to transportation restraint, there is actually a lot more to see in Philly than imagine. One day, I'm gonna hop onto a Philly duck tour and just finish off the remaining sights I have yet to see.

Philadelphia has tons of museums. Seaport Museum, Please Touch Museum, National Liberty Museum, Frankin Institute Science Museum . . . . . . . . . . . . (and the list goes on and on). The Art Museum is one of the big lovely museums around, and it has a lovely trail leading to it.

No kidding. It's called the Benjamin Frankin Parkway.

Now if you have been reading my previous post, one of them mentioned the love park.

If you venture further North West from this park, it'll bring you down the trail, passing by a lot of scenic attractions. And from there you'll see flags from all over the country lining the sides of the road.

Don't ask me why all the flags are there I have no idea myself. Interestingly the flags go in alphabetical order starting from one side going down, making a U-turn and come back up the other side. Means the flags start with A and Z on both side of the road.

Isn't it lovely? Of course we jakuns try finding flags of familiar countries. Eg. China, Japan, Singapore (much to Queens delight), Argentina (because it has a pretty blue), Brazil for some (because of the upcoming world cup) etc etc.

And no points to those trying to guess which country's flag excites us the most.

Yay! Patriotism

When William Penn found Philadelphia, he wanted a city which was neat and orderly, yet one that would not spread a fire (since houses in the olden days are made of wood, and if you built houses too close to one another the fire can spread very fast). So he came up with a brilliant idea of creating spaces in between the compact building to limit the fire. Hence, he created four parks. Rittenhouse Square, Washington Square, Franklin Square, and also. . . . . .

Logan Square! Which is also along the Ben Franklin Parkway.

And at the end of the trail lies the majestically beautiful museum. Okay maybe not majestically beautiful, but the museum is super big and one or two days alone can't even even make the trip justice.

The museum of art!

So before I end this post, lets give yall another picture of Spring/Summer.

Lovely!
