So summer came and went. And so many events have occured. From having an earthquake, to having lost both my grannies, to slaving away in the hospital, to completing 4 series of dramas. Eventful indeed.
So lets start from the beginning of summer. It was indeed the opposite of summer. It was bright and sunny out, everyone was playing and having fun, while we (the three of us) are slaving in a little cage made out of glass, with our laptops displaying USMLE World questions, and our heads buried in out First Aid book.
Oh yes. We were silly enough to sacrifice our summer break for some study time to get Step 2 over and done with.
When Step 2 was done, we had about 4 days to have any sort of fun, and get ready for our 4th year. (Oh yea we were 75% doctors then). So 2 days was put into catching up with chores, ironing our white coats, stacking books away, and we decided to treat ourselves, and headed to the beach.
Now the weather then was not coorporating with us. It rained and rained while we were at the beach. So we tried to salvage whatever fun left we could have, and played at the arcade for hours.
Angry Birds booth! (Which swallowed my money)
Beach Board Walk Fish and Chips.
We had the time of our lifes trying to win some angry bird merchandise, and wasted tons of money. Thomas manage to win a little black angry bird. Yay!
Board walks are interesting. They have tons of food noone ever heard of before (at least not any jakun malaysian like me). Funnel cake, Fried oreo, Fried everything you can imagine. Even fried dough also have. Weird. Best part is they have those little solero shot like ice thingi!
The weather eventually cleared up, and we headed to the beach. There were seagulls everywhere trying to snatch our food. Scary!
The sea water was freezing cold, from the prolonged rain I supposed. But we jumped in anyways. The waves were huge, unlike those in Asia, and each wave was big enough for people to surf on it.
We came home happy.
Next day was July 4th. And it is a big holiday for Americans. I pretty much stayed cooped at home, trying to catch up with most of my chores. But at night, we had a little gathering with the Jeffersonians in our class, all ready for a brand new academic year (not!).
Siyi brought sparkles, and we attempted to spell July 4th with it.
1st attempt was a fail. The "J" was missing because it took too long to light up everyone's sparkles.
2nd attempt was a SUCCESS! Yay!
We eventually tried spelling "fireworks" but it was too long a word to light everyone's sparkles on time. So Aaron tried salvaging the effort by drawing a huge tower intended to originate from his own "erhem". Kinda failed too.
Looks weird.
Then came the huge stress of being a 4th year. But actually, I find it more relaxing. Not having shelves to study for plays a big part. Shaun started on ObGyn as a third year, so we handed him scrubs. Among the many pairs of scrubs, was this huge gigantic pair of pants.
Quote Shaun :"This can fit two of me!"
Indeed!
Last but not least, 4th year's schedule actually allows us to have time for brunches on weekends. One weekend we decided to have a nice "expensive" brunch. Oh were our tummies filled!
Picture of 2 of us, which is hard to come by nowadays since I don't bring my camera anywhere anymore.
My delicious looking onion soup.
Zven's Steak
My Eggs Benedict
Us again! <3
Of course, to end this post, there is a need to post HAMSTER PICS!
These cute-lings never cease to make me happy. Adios!
