Day 3 in Taiwan was greeted by darkness in our TouCheng Farm Stay. We had to climb out of bed at an ungodly hour just to go watch the sunrise (which was masked by the fog anyway).
Since CNY is now coming, I present to you an early CNY picture.
Oranges! (plucked on the way to the top of the hill)
After a few more pictures of the beautiful farm, we headed our way to HuaLien.
On the way, we dropped by a harbour front temple. Its a MaZhu temple, with a pure huge Gold Mazhu Statue, and a Jade MaZhu Statue. People who visit that temple usually buy gold to hangaround the neck of MaZhu. With time, the gold accumulated, and was melted down to make a huge huge huge statue.
As for the Jade statue, some Jade specialist imported a slab of Jade from canada and carved it.
Its SUPER NICE!!
Then we were brought to some factory to see statues of stones and marble and jade.
And then brought to the Taroko Gorge.
In Taiwan, people treat their dogs like their own kids. They bring them out to night markets in their prams, bigger dogs get furry coats to wear. The leash is made out of LEOPARD PRINTS FURRY SKIN.
Almost every store you visit, there is a dog yelping. At one stop where we stayed particularly long, I played with MoChi. (It was a mochi shop). Hehe
Night time program was to watch the Ah Mei aboriginal dance. Not really interesting. In fact I saw a few people snoozing away.
The only thing that got me going was me trying to snap a picture of one of the costumes.
Its a leopard print MINI SKIRT. and its on a GUY!
Night time was more night market shopping
And the very next day was GOOD MORNING FRESH AIR IN FLOWER FARM!!!
And 8 hours car ride to GaoShiong.
On the way we spotted the Buddha Head fruit. It looks like Buddha's Head. In canto its called the "hong mou lai chee"
Super yummy!!!
One interesting sight on the boring 8 hour journey. Our bus driver was addicted to Ping Lang. You know, the fruit of the tree that Penang was named after where in Malaysia indians chew on them till the whole mouth turns red.
And in Taiwan, they get girls to dress DOWN to sell it.
At the Dragon Tiger Pagoda (which is nothing much to see actually)
l
Another night market. At Liu He Night market. Once again, food is fabulous!!!!!!!!!!
Ps : Honestly speaking, the day 3 and 4 were the 2 most boring days in my Taiwan trip. (except for the countdown on day 4.)
