Food food food.

Time to FINALLY talk about some Philadelphia restaurant food. Restaurant week was a gazillion years ago. And till now, my pictures are pilling up till it almost hit my roof and no one has heard about it nor seen any pictures of it.

So I will blog about it NAO. Stat! (okay medical joke. When you order medicine, and want it to be given now NOW NAO you order it "stat" - for non medical people to be enlighten about medical terms).

Owh and when I am done let me tell you a bit or my ObGyn rotation. Cos I got loads to tell.

But food first before I tell weird stories about girl's privates and babies.

So, restaurant week was a week where restaurants have a set price for a 3 course meal. And so, I, being a tam chiak poh tried out 3 places.

Le-Bec-Fin

Food there is super awesome! Nice place, nice atmosphere, and super lovely food. But, lesson to learn. Since everything is a fixed price, the more expensive stuff you order, the smaller the portion. I stared at the menu and had my eyes pinned on the "scallop". And I was like I AM SO ORDERING THAT.

And so I was pretty excited about my scallop meal, thinking that I would be so stuffed with scallops I will be happy and satisfied. But then again, if you think about it, the restaurant will rugi big time if they give you 10 scallops.

So my main meal was 2 miserable scallops. But they were pretty big scallops la. About 4-5cm in diameter I think. I was still happy and satisfied.

Dessert was super awesome too. I love that place. Too bad it is closing down soon I think.

Nineteen XIX

So when we were deciding where to go for our 2nd restaurant week destination, someone recommended Nineteen to us. So since is it like a super posh place to go, okay lor, we go lor.

This is their avocado soup. Which taste pretty nice, except it has chilly oil in it. I was like "why chilly oil in avocado soup" and didn't really like it. Cos of the chilly oil.

The food there was okay okay only la. Perhaps more to the yuck side also. I think their regular food is good, but they serve not-so-yummy stuff on restaurant week cos they will rugi if they serve too yummy stuff.

Even Ven was super sien there. Hahahahahahaha.

I still can smile! =) I think my pictures have progressively bigger eyebags. So tired these days.

And this is their dessert. Which is pretty nice also, except, the chocolate bar is pure choc so it's super bitter. And the scoop of ice-cream I think is mustard flavour. Yea. Mustard flavour. Taste like crap.

And the third place I went was a seafood place in which I forgot to bring my camera. So too bad no pics. But its super awesome too. Seafood rawks.

And I also think Inception is a awesome movie. I wanna watch it with my family when I go back in Christmas.

And I apologise for being so luan luan lai. Jump from one topic to another.

And I also wanna tell stories about my ObGyn rotation.

And . . . . . .

Okay so, when I was in peds nursery, I so wanted to have a baby. So cute so small and tiny, so cuddly. Now, I think I'll pass. The pain of labour is terrible. Sigh. I know I know people say "do cesarean section only la".

Let me tell you, the complications that accompanies a c-section is terrible.
1) You get all the complications of a surgery - bowel adhesions/obstruction that can potentially lead to necrotising enterocolitis (means your intestines don't get blood supply because of scar tissue that form around and a part of it dies), wound infection, atelectasis (cos belly pain so people don't take deep enough breaths, urinary tract infection/obstruction (cos the uterus is so near the bladder and urethra).
2) You next pregnancy have a high chance of Placenta Previa (meaning the placenta adhere to the outlet instead of the inside of uterus cos got big scare there from c-section).
3) Your next pregnancy is at higher risk of uterine rupture. Which can lead to DEATH.

Sigh. I will think about giving birth perhaps, in the FAR future. Hahahahahaha.

And I also have a few patients who are like 15-18 years old, who are pregnant. Just throwing it out there. I am sure in Malaysia also got young people get pregnant. But I am like, are teenagers ready for a kids in their lives when their brain is not mature enough to make proper decisions?

Again just throwing it out there. I think we must all do something about it. Here, everyone is STRONG and gungho about contraception. I think in Malaysia we should have every women to see a ObGyn doctor and get a papsmear every year too. And, give them IUDs.

Lalalalalalalala.

Okay Imma gonna jump again.

It was my sister's birthday last week. And I made her a video!!!!!! I think she cried watching it. It was kinda a spontaneous idea I had and I was super excited about the idea and I wasted a lot of time on it. But worth it la. Yay. Haha. I tried to make it funny also so she won't cry, but aiya I guess my face not funny enough. But I am embarrassed to show everyone so Google it yourself. I bet you never find it nguahaha.

We celebrated too. Over skype.

Alrightey! Byebye!
