Hello again ladies and gentlemen. It is once again, muah, back to being alive.
I have to say, it was a tough 6 weeks. And once that all was over, the 5 of us, sitting at a bar, drinking beer and ranting our hearts out really brings this rotation to a good closure. It was nice to spill all the built up frustration on the table, and have surrounding people agree with you. Ahhh. Was a lovely session.
Okay. Main topic. So I did get my little dose of holiday. Which is my opinion was not sufficient. But, it still is a good dose.
So there was a surgical conference held in Washington DC, and I was all excited about taking the weekend off to travel, and of course, attend this conference which may be a life changing experience. But let me tell you what is a life changing experience. Being in the OR retracting a possible 10 pound of fats for 3 hours. That is life changing. That alone, makes me wanna be the one holding the knife, and have someone else be the one retracting. I will reach that goal one day.
Side track pula, so as for life changing. I realise, every other city I travel to, seems a lot nicer than Philadelphia. DC's subway is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G. So modern looking and clean. *dream dream dream*.
So after a lot of extensive planning, in which ME AND ONLY ME planned the entire trip alone (mommy daddy I'm such a big girl already), and have a lucky someone tagged alone my planned trip, we visited the few famous places.
First stop, was brunch to fill our poor stomachs. Since we're having a rare break, may as well spend a little more money on brunch.
Forgot the name of this restaurant. Hehe. But its right next to the National treasury building. Which was very lovely. Typical American show place to have brunch (macam gossip girl style)
See I'm still in a dress. Weather then was nice and Genting-ish. Now its just so freezing cold.
So after staring at the menu for a really LONG LONG LONG LONG time, and back calculating budget, I realise I have actually been spending way below my estimated allowance. So I may as well treat myself to yummy food.
Oh yesh. Lobster!!
After our little belly's are full, we took a stroll at the nearby park, which happened to be the park where the white house is.
Sun so bright. This is the national treasury building
Washington monument! (if your brain is imaginative you can think about all the funny things I can use this structure to snap pictures for)
A random building I found pretty and took a picture. I think its a museum or something like that.
Okay the thing about DC is that, everything is so far and walking is such a chore. Walk like crazy. Thank god weather was a little on the cold side so I didn't sweat too much. But, everything is near enough so much so it is walkable. But still too far to walk.
Another monument picture! With me in it!
Oh there was some protesting event going on as well, and everyone was carrying big tags to stop inflation or stop firing people or ban immigrants or conserve fuel power. Quite an experience.
Quack!
Yeapz. Thats it. Short DC trip. We bunked at Yinn Khurn's place, which is so cosy and nice I now dreaming of having my own apartment.
Adios!
