From Nine to Ten

I remember when I was a young teenager, at a raw age of about fifteen, dad brought me to Bukit Bintang for countdown. All I ever remember was it was SUPER PACK, SUPER SWEATY, and a lot of perverted people.

Since then, I never head back to Bukit Bintang ever, for countdowns. In fact, I've never countdown at the Curve or 1Utama before either, because I am never home. I always have the mindset that countdowns at other countries are better, because you don't need to worry that amongst the packed crowd are perverted males trying to touch you.

Year 2006-2007 was spend in Singapore, with a bunch of retarded idiots, playing at a foam party in Sentosa .

Year 2007-2008 was spent in Singapore again, 5 hours away from home (by bus), with a bunch of girly girly girls, in Sentosa as well.

Year 2008-2009 was spent in Korea, freezing in the cold, hoping my ear doesn't drop off, and sleeping soundly in my warm heated bed.

Year 2009-2010 was one of the best countdown experience ever. In Taiwan, at a foreign countdown celebration 5 hours away from home (by air of course).

Taiwan has countdown celebrations EVERYWHERE. The country is as small as KL plus Penang add together, and there are about 5 HUGE celebrations around the island. The biggest celebration was is Taipei, where fireworks burst out from the Taipei 101 tower - second tallest in the world, before KLCC.

I was so happen in Kaoshiong, where the second largest countdown was held. And mind oh mind, it was so so so so happening. Taiwanese really know how to celebrate countdowns.

It was people mountain people sea!!!! SO MANY PEOPLE!!! It takes half an hour to walk a meter. Like human traffic jam only.

Kaoshion's celebration was held in front of a shopping complex called Dream Mall (so dreamy la the name). Dream mall is just like any shopping mall, but famous for it Hello Kitty Ferris Wheel. (why all the name so cute wan!)

My aim for my trip in Taiwan, was to dress as CLAM SHELL as possible. Layer one thousand layers, and look like a CLAM!!!!

But my efforts still fail lor. Cos the moment I thought I succeed big big time liao, and was super proud of my lala effort liao, I see this!

Wah this is super geng-chao. I lose like gao gao already. And almost all the girls here dress like this. So it makes me look super "normal" or even on the un-fashionable side. Haihz. Need to learn more CLAMSHELL tecniques.

Despite the crowd, my family manage to secure a position pretty near the main stage. Rather, me and my sister was applying all our "kiasu" skills by slowly inching, and squeezing forward whenever the opportunity arises.

Woohoo see we so near the stage Woot Woot. (someone tells me not to WOOT so often cos it makes me a WOOT girl. But don't care, I woot as I like since people who judge me on the surface aren't worth me impressing anyways.)

Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot Woot !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the first time in my 22 years of Pei-Wenny life I ever countdown in MANDARIN!! Our mother tongue!! So SO SO meaningful right??

Watch the video!!! The amazing moment in Taiwan.

Shi! Jiu! Ba! Chi! Liu! Wu! Si! San! Er! Yi!

Happy 2010 to all. Have a great year ahead!!
