The whole purpose of us going to Sandakan was to do our Community Oriented Project (COP). The story behind "why Sandakan" is so simple. The group of us brats want to ber-holiday while COP-ing, and use this perfect opportunity to escape to the land of Borneo. Plus, Elaine suggested it. =)
So, we decided to visit a few homes in Sandakan to fulfill our COP requirement, and use the remaining stay there for play play and play. And play did we. But that's a story for another day. (alamak this perempuan postpone again!!)
1st up was a visit to Sri Harapan old folks home. To be honest, none of us knew the name until we needed to rush our COP report. (whereby we desperately call Elaine for details from Sandakan). It was just like any normal visit to any home. Greet the caretaker, tour the place, chat with the residents, be Santa Claus for the day in distributing goodies.
Mini side track - Man you really can't blame a girl when she is so obsessed with nails. My oh my!! I really don't know why I have this sudden nail craze!!
Okay, back to our main topic of the day. Our supposedly 3 days of COP was shorten to 2 days. (due to sheer laziness) And so for the 2nd day we headed to Sabah Cheshire Home, a home for patients with mental illness and incapability to take care of themselves.
We got quite a scare upon arrival. We did not expect their behaviors to be so erratic and unpredictable. Although under medication, some of them still act very very strangely, and the bulk of us were very uncomfortable being among them.
But we needed to get used to the situation. So we gritted our teeths and went through it. It wasn't so bad. After getting used to them, they can be very adorable, and loving too. =)
We did assisted them in nail cutting, and surprisingly they sat very still for us to cut their nails. Only disgusting part is that we need to cut their feet nails as well, thank god we have gloves.

That's about all we had for COP. I will post about the holiday-ing part next okay.
