Liberation!

I finally get to go somewhere. All these months of aimless waiting, waiting for possible impending doom. It's all over. So many things has happened, and I personally want to get out of IMU as soon as possible. But gosh, I am now still in IMU typing this waiting for Orientation to start.

But now, it doesn't matter anymore. I have a future. In fact, a rather promising one.

I think this is the gonna be the new source of my strength. Thank you God for making this rough journey worth while. Thank you for showing me my true friends, and those who stand through thick and thin with me. Thank you for giving me such a warm family. Thank you for giving me strength.

My prayers are answered. May the states, be a new start all over.

*grins*

New Layout!

My bloggie have a new layout!!!!!! The old wan is so omgosh-2007-wtf!!!!

I tell you. This blogger is super 7 mafan wan. They switched the to the new XML code, make me stare at the computer a good whole day just to figure out what is going wrong or right with whatever code I key in. And then, they don't gimme a feed, so I need to tweak tweak summore. GOSH!!! SUPER TROUBLESOME.

The new theme is roses. I dunno why I went with roses. Wanted bows and ribbons, but I used that before. Wanted something pink like a tiara, but the tiara's I googled always come out super childish and kiddy design. Wanted leopard prints too, but it looks so lala. So when I saw roses, I was like "screw it la rose ma rose la". Hehe. Had this whole light bulb flashing into my mind. I wanted to do a olden days B&W film with a striking red rose. But I saw the pink one which is so sweet I juz have to put it in too. So now it's a mixture. Haha

Personally I think the layout is a bit cluttered. But I spend one whole day just designing the background and stuff gosh, I really duwan to remove all the lil ribbons. Maybe next time ba. And the blog header alignment a bit out d. Sigh. But I damn damn lazy to change it cos its gonna take another few hrs. Nvm la juz eye sore for the next 2 year. But my layout is still mad chio woot woot!!! Okay larhz the picture in the middle a bit act cute cannot tahan. I'll change to another picture when I see the correct one come along. Haha

PAY ATTENTION TO THE GOLD WORDS. GOsh that is the mad chio part. And also the toughest. The roses juz cut paste cut paste. The frame have to paint it make it black. The face juz piak there also. BUT THE WORDS ARE MAD CHIO MAD MAD MAD CHUN CHUN CHUN GOLD GOLD GOLD!!!! Its like the best of the best! Weeeee!!!!!!! Super in love with it!! I think all my future blog headers is gonna be gold gold also. Hahahah!!

K la, I keep praising my own layout. Super duwan face. Haha. Paiseh to the max. But what you guys think?? Is it nice? (or am I just delusional cos its my own work??)

Say byebye to the past and hello to a new beginning!!! Wee!!!

Happy 8th-9th day of CNY!!

Deliciously Delicious (double dosage)

Quickie Update Because of CNY busy-ness : Last thursday, I had two meals at Delicious.

Hence the lame title, two delicious squeezed into one sentence. Then put "double dosage" so that you get it!! Haha.

Met up with Qiannie and Chloe. And Chee Leong too.

I had a caesar salad as I am not really hungry. Shared with Qiannie.

Watched Percy Jackson that day. Awesome show. I want a lightning bolt sword thingi too. Can shoot people one that type!

Later that night, dinner with Mom and Ven. Went to Delicious again!!!!!!!

Mommy!

Food!

Drinks!

So that's double delicious for ya!!!!!

(This is such a lame post, but the fact that I've been to delicious TWICE is quite amusing, and cos CNY pics all in cam.)

Adios!

Food!!!!!!!!!!!

I have been going around eating FOOD FOOD FOOD and FOOD!!!!!!!

Sometime ago, Ven brought me to his favourite Char Siew place for Char Siew ( Haha, Char Siew place for Char Siew! Geddit geddit???? Hahahahahahahahaha).

Its in Glenmarie Shah Alam. I was told that Shah Alam has 2 parts, the Subang side of Shah Alam which is not too far and the Shah Alam side of Shah Alam which is 500 light years away ( to me at least, accounting for the lack of road knowledge ). So this shop is located at the Subang side of Shah Alam.

Well, the dish definitely looked good in pictures.

Verdict? It was good!!! Non fatty, crispy on the outside. My only complain is that its super black, and I have this paranoia of black things being carcinogenic.

Later on I brought Ven to my FAVOURITE dessert place. You guessed it.

This place was introduced to me by Jessica. And its LEGEND-waitforit-ARY!!!!!! I totally loved this place to bits, and when I was in Taiwan and saw the exact same dessert, I literally melted on the ground in happiness. (seriously!)

Snowflake serves Taroballs on a bed of cincau and cincau ice. The Taroballs are super yummy, and the cincau ice is different from any other desserts. !!

Well, you even get to see a UFO!!! AMAZING leh!! UFO!!! They give you this cute little round thing that blinks and vibrats when your order is ready. Convenient-sia!

Well, I think Ven enjoys it there too. Look at him!

Btw, new member to his family, the D70. This old cam cam has been fetching us nice pictures. Hence the major massive improvement in pictures on my blog.

Thats bout it folks. Seeya!

Its the time of the year again, where everything is Red, money is handed out in Red, houses and covered in Red, humans wear Red, Red flames patron the sky at night, and people in China queue for a gazillion hours just to rush home. (okay the last sentence totally no link. Fur-lame).

Its the start of a New Year again!!!!! The lunar one this time.

And it coincides with Valentines!! All the more should you go home to your families!

For me, it simply means travelling up to Penang to see my cousins and grandmama, and then down to Kampar to see my other cousins and Grandmama, and maybe a trip down to Johor and Singapore to see my cousins and aunts and uncles too!!

Yeaps. Travelling the entire peninsular Malaysia is Chinese New Year to me!!

So to all of you peeps out there, go home and meet your families. Resolve all family conflicts, and return to see your parents/grandparents. Persuade mommy, or daddy to go back together, everyone. Noone should be leftout. There is nothing like the warmth of the family on this amazing dual festival.

Gosh I don't know why am I so into the family thingy this year, but I feel like family is the best thing on earth.

Happy Chinese New Year!! Gong Xi Fa Cai!!

ps : I is having super chio red nails k! Super super chio. Fur chio to the max!

Of sminky?

I named my camera. Remember how my pink sony chic was called skinny pinky, because its pink and its a skinny-T? Well this Canon baby deserves a name too. In fact all my gadgets have a name. Lolz.

And I named it sminky. Well. Its black, and stylish, skinny for a semipro. Sminky is erm, kinda a combinations of a few adjectives ( I have my own reasons ). And so it will be known forever as Pei's Sminky S90!! (wah name got thunder bolt effect or not)

I gave it a few test shots the moment I can sit down to go through the entire manual. And my-oh-my, semipro's are quite difficult to master if you wanna fully utilize the benefits of it. But I doubt in normal picture taking would anyone wanna take funky shots with style and all. A camera to me is just something to capture the moments I treasure, and of course to play around with it like camwhoring. Hehe. The usual me takes an average of 2 seconds to snap a picture. With SkinnyPinky, thats super easy. Just switch the mode to "Auto", slide the cover down, "kachingkaching", kaotim (jobs done).

But with Sminky S90, things ain't so easy. Gotta change the dial like for 5 seconds only can capture the moment. Haha. But check out all the cool things I can do with it.

This is one practice shot taken with a little bunch of flowers. And in 4 other modes. Total cool-ness eh!!
Normal Mode

Vintage looking Mode. Where the colours turn a dull shade to mimic pictures taken in the olden days.

Vintage mode no.2 (I get 5 vintage modes hehe)

Normal mode with Bogeh effect!

Colour selective mode (where I get to choose one colour to retain whereas the other colours turn into black and white)

Just one little bunch of flowers got me so many different kind of pictures. Love love love love love Sminky S90 to bits!!!

Vday flowers

Some decor.

KL Skyline.

The front porch of a random hotel.

You know whats the coolest mode of all? I get to avatar-ise my self. Hell yea. Its called the colour swap mode. Where I pick a colour I don't want off the picture to be swapped with another colour of my choice.

So I simply swapped my skin colour to blue. Hehe.

I make a damn ugly Avatar man!

Lil Red Town.

Another trip to Melacca was made. This time with Qiannie, KimKim and ChloeDoey. BUT!!!! In the end, only KimKim turned up. Sob Sob. Something about the picture above makes me feel happy. I think its the fat-ness. Gosh its been ages since I look fat in pics. *self 5 to gaining weight*.

It was a fine morning of a friday. I left KL with Ven only to reach Melacca a bit too early. KimKim and gang haven't arrive yet. So, we initially wanted to hunt for the TeoChew place Ven had in mind, but we walked all up and down Jalan Laksamana, but the little place was nowhere to be found. Instead, we settled for picture taking because Melacca town is beautiful.

Ven (along Jalan Laksamana, love the red pillars with chinese wordings)

Along the Melacca river.

Since its only the two of us, we set us the camera by balancing is with handphones and camera pouches for support, hit the self timer button, and ran all the way to the picture frame before the camera goes Kaching!

As much as we would love to wait for KimKim and the gang to come down to join us for lunch, our stomachs are killing us, and screaming for attention. Alas, when we could no longer take it anymore, we sat down at ChungWah chicken rice ball shop to relieve our poor stomachs.

Yummy as usual. I think this place needs no introduction because I have been here in my previous Melacca trip. Haha. Girls get the balls, guys get the chicken!

We ate very little. Only half a chicken for the 2 of us, and we didn't really finish all the balls either. Wanted to save stomach for the rest of the day. We took a stroll along Jonker walk to digest a little bit. And I was on a hat-hunt for the dance people as well. Hence Hat-hunting + strolling = digesting.

Since it was very near CNY, the entire street was nicely decorated.

And I tell you one day I'll be a super good surgeon. Because I can frigging camwhore with one hand using a DSLR. Effing heavy I tell you. But still good pictures came out of it. Loves!
Proud proud proud. Haha

So we walked and walked and walked and walked. Awh-ed and ahh-ed at the things they sell along the street. Hmm-ed and Mmm-ed at the hats all the way till we reached this little cozy place.

I love desserts. And I love Cendol! This place serves the best cendol. Thick sticky gula melacca dripping down a slab of shredded ice. YummYumm. This place was closed the last time I was in Melacca. Hence I had altogether 2 and a half bowls of Cendol. Once durian cendol, one normal gula melacca cendol, and one mango cendol shared with Ven at night.

Laksa is awesome too. Haha

And when I was at this little shop, guess who text me to say she's coming over. Hui Xia!!! Haven't met this girl in like ages!!! I think it's been at least 2 years or so. Because I am so super outdated with her life that I got all the facts wrong. Oops. But it so nice seeing her at last. And I think we are all gonna meet each other again someday soon. CNY round the corner.

(btw side track, we have a gathering for breakfast on Sat , 13th Jan, morning. Contact me!)

And finally, KimKim and gang arrive!!! Fancy thing they opted for cendol upon arrival, and I was sitting there with HuiXia all along. Haha.

KimKim!!

We walked summore on Jonker street afterwards.

Since KimKim and gang haven't really makan-ed anything, they wanted to go chicken-rice-ball-ing after Cendol. And since me and Ven already chicken-rice-ball-ed, we didn't join them, but went on our own expedition to search for Pork Satay.

It was some Jalan somewhere, I got it off some food blog. Once you arrive they serve you cucumbers and onions with some ketupats immediately. Don't know if they charge for it, but I didnt really finish the ketupats (such a waste). The satays comes in free flow, but you needa pay for every stick you eat. But once your plate of satay is empty, they fill it up with more. Kinda like eating a lok-lok of satays. There is a choice of chicken satay, pork satay, or pork intestines.

Verdict? I'll say its ok-ok only. Not really fantastic, but it taste a whole lot better then the normal satay stalls we all see in KL. But not the best I've eaten honestly. Haha. \

After Satay-ing, Ven took a nap in the car while I plan out our next destination. Satay celup was next. The last Satay Celup place I went was Ban Lee Hiang, which was super awesome except it'll burn your tongue because the sauce is so so so so so so so spicy.

The pathetic map I printed out using my printer from Google Map and stick them together one by one using glue. Haha

That is of course no problem to me. I can't really take spicy food, but I can still tolerate the spicy level if the food is awesome. But Ven on the other hand is never gonna savour Satay Celup and its awesome-ness if I bring him to Ban Lee Hiang. But thanks to Hui Xia who currently lives in Melacca, she showed me a place where the Satay Celup sauce is not as spicy, so my Ven can give it a try too.

Still taste awesome, but somehow I prefer the spicy-er version. Haha. So to all non-spicy takers, go to McQuek for a delightful non-spicy satay celup experience.

Hui Xia also introduced me a place to purchase yummilicious Pineapple tarts. And this place pineapple tarts is so nice its on limited edition. One group of customers are only limited to take away 2 boxes per day.

I wanted to buy 2 boxes and Ven wanted another 2-3 boxes, but we both have to settle for one box each because the lady boss simply won't sell it to us. She says its not fair to the other customers hence one person can only bring one box away. Ouch!!

Later at night, we tried the famous Bunga Raya Oh Chien (fried oyster).

I have to say, I am not a big Oh Chien fan, but this place Oh Chien is very yummy. The amount of starch in it is just nice, enough to make it crispy and soft, but not yucky and gooey. I think mom and sis would love this place.

That's about it for my melacca trip 2nd installment. Satay Celup still rawks my ass!!!!
