Happy New Year EVERYONE!!

Its the end of 2009, and the start of a new decade. Will 2010 be a much better year for me?

Well, 2009 has been such a roller coaster year. There are happy moments I simply wouldn't trade anything for. New friends found, new taste of life in life, new found memories. One thing I learned throughout all the hardship, is that true friends will only emerge in times of difficulty, and family, will always be there for you.

Honestly, I really did some mad crazy things in 2009. One of them, was to take USMLE. Given another chance, I would NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER do it again. (not like I need to now anyways). I would rather go UK and be happy instead of going for the no-life path. Another, was to cut bangs. Seriously, I can't remember what was I thinking when I opted for the doll-look. Haha.

Joining Modelle was another spur-of-the-moment decision. But one that I didn't regret at all!!! I loved the experience, and love working in front of the camera. But I still feel so inferior. And going to Singapore for a 10 day holi-week unplanned, was another crazy idea. Also another one that I would not trade anything for.

Looking back at the year, I realise I actually did accomplished most of the resolutions I set out for. I spent a lot less this year, although clothes in my wardrobe suggest otherwise. My savings account has quite a handful, enough for me to go on last-minute trips, or impulsive gadget shopping if I wanted to. I no longer aimed to pass exams, although I still have not reached the flying-colours-stage, but I am glad I clear the pass marks by quite a bit.

I have not lost anything precious throughout year 2009, nor did I have any car accidents (besides a scratch). I not only manage to maintain my figure, I even shrank 2 inches off the waist, and 5kg off the weight. Cool-ness!! But now I gotta eat a lot more to prevent further shrinking.

One thing I have failed to do, is to learn how to cook. Lolz.

Year 2010 needs no resolutions. To me, having resolutions is like having a list stuck to the board without looking at it. I'll try to achieve as much as I can in this new year, and learn to be independent, and trust worthy.

May everyone have a happy year ahead.

HAPPY NEW YEAR FOLKS!!

Captain Planet!!

Yet another round of photoshoot!! Yes yes Princess of Outdated-ness strikes again. This is SOOOO LAST MONTH.

Just FYI, I made it into the top 30, and had ANOTHER SHOOT already. Just to harbour for your votes, PLEASE SARPORT ME!! (voting through sms)

type MODV[space]WEN send to 36660 , RM 1 per vote. (con ppl money)

Btw, this shoot is the top 40 shoot. And I am so glad to have made it through to this round, because this kinda of shoot is the type that I've been dying to experience. Always get so envious when I see friends with extraordinary face paintings, and dramatic eyelashes. TeeHeeHee. Now me got me own chance to get myself covered in paint!!!

Righto. Early morning I waited at Kelana Square, had a round of kopi and toast (get fat plan rmb?), then headed down to some ulu-ated puchong place where the studio was. Ulu-ated because only Ulu-ated studios are cheap. Tsk tsk.

Girls were getting ready. And I am always the camera shy one. So everytime someone goes "who's next" I'll push another girl in front of me. Lolz.

Me got bored so me camwhore with the Mommy Sabrina aka Captain Planet.

She claims to be the captain planet. Because the theme of this round's shoot is elemental. Hence 40 girls are divided into 4 groups each. Earth Fire Water Wind. So now you know why she is Captain Planet. Lolzzzzzz.

The make up artist is awesome. I wish I can do such fantastic make up. I've got the Earth element btw.

Here are some behind-the-scene shots. You don't see all the pictures turn out so nice, the process is very tiring k? Some poses are so hard to maintain, like you gotta tip toe on one feet, and the other put on your lap, and strike some fairy-hand gesture, and freeze there for 5 mins till the photographer is satisfied with the shot.

Can get toes cramps weii.

Lets take a look at the other Fairies from the other Elements.

Fire!!

Water!! (credits to Eva)

Wind!!!
Just look at the body art. Look Look Loook. STARRREEEE. So awesome. !!

Alright. REMEMBER. Its

Sorry so thick skin. hehehehehehehe

Cafe Cafe

Wow, in exactly 3 hours time, I am going to board a plane to TAIWAN. Woot woot super excited.

Actually I have this post pre-written already, just waiting to post it up.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Having brilliant sibling have its own benefits. If you have a brilliant ELDER sibling, it's kinda like having a life long home tutor whereby you can bombard endless of questions. But having a super brilliant YOUNGER sibling, entitles you to loads of scrumptious meals!!

Because everytime her results come out, its a call for a scrumptious meal!!! Hence the more exams for HER, the better for ME!!!

My sister has scored an impossible score of 99.6 in her SAM with two A20's (perfect score) for maths and english. IT'S A CALL FOR CELEBRATION and I get to decide where to eat since I'm the one with the "expensive" taste.

So happy!! (Both happy for her, and happy for my stomach).

And yeaps. We headed down to Cafe Cafe @ Jalan Maharajalela.

And because it's christmas, the decor inside is ten times better. What's with a cozy hut with more red green green trees!!

I so want my future house to be like that. Cozy with loads of antique english furniture and chandeliers and candles on mantelpiece and lovely tea pots and tea cups and red red fresh flowers. (Mom probably say "it'll all collect dust") A girl can only dream!

The place is magnificent alright, but the food is even better. Even mom and dad approve!! (they're not a big fan of western/french cuisine)

My cafe au lait (served in a bowl - Kawaiiiii)

Sister's Rose Tea

We all went for the gourmet course. Price is about RM 79 - 99 (depending on whether you add escargots or not). 1st dish of the course is . . . . .

Scramble eggs. Don't look at me like that. Lolz. Okay actually it was a slice of beef in some reddish sauce served with potatoes. But, my family don't eat beef. Hence it was changed to scrambled eggs. And I'm not exaggerating. But it was the best scrambled egg on earth. It's different from those breakfast kinda scrambled eggs. This one has got a tinge of wine taste along with few other herbs. So aromatic and yummy.

And of course, escargots are the BESt!!!!!

Unlike other restaurant's pan fried/baked/garlic escargots, CafeCafe's escargot is completely emerged in butter oil, and soaked in parsley. Super fattening, super oily, super unhealthy, but SUPER DELICIOUS (totally worth additional calories).

And soup of the day was - Pumpkin soup. A bit too large a serving for me. Drink until a bit gelat!

As for the main en tree, there is a choice of Garlic Prawns, Chicken Breast, or Lamb Shank in wine.

Garlic prawn was me and my sister's pick.

Our Garlic prawn with pumpkin paste, green peas and carrots as sides

And mom have lamb shank in wine.

Lamb lamb lamb.

Dad's vegetarian dish

Best part of the gourmet set, in fact, to me, best part of ANY set/meals, is always the desert!!! Yummeeeeeeeeh!

Lemon Sorbet

And the yummiest MUST try!!!!!!!!!!!! MUST TRY OF ALL TIMES. Best in MALAYSIA AND SINGAPORE AND JB AND BATAM AND GOD KNOWS WHERE OTHER PLACES!!!!!!!

Choc Lava cake!!
Decore of the cake/serving is kawaii-des as well. Before the taste of it makes your stomach melt the presentation already make your heart melt.

And when you dig your spoon into the melting hot choc lava in the middle, and top it up with cold ice-cream, you basically get a tongue orgasm when it hits your mouth.

Choc tart

I definately want to have another go at this marvelous restaurant. Lets hope my sister scores well in all her exams lolz.

Bonding

Who says family can't sit at a bar and bond over beer. They probably haven't met my family.

Or they haven't been to Langkawi, where booze is so much cheaper. You can literally drink them like juice and talk about everything under the sun.

Living up to my title of Princess of outdated-ness, finally a Langkawi post is up. Apart from swimming monkey's and jelly fishes, there're actually loads more to see in Langkawi.

There's the monkey hill. (don't ask me why everything's about monkeys). Actually, not monkey hill per se, was referring to the natural landscape, the mountains that can take any shape, be it looking like a monkey or a pregnant lady.

Monkey Hill

Mangrove swamp

We actually took a tour in the mangroves which require you to sit inside a boat for the entire day while the boat driver maneuver through the mangroves to bring you to places.

Sometimes, you even need to go through mini tunnels like this one.

We were also brought to a fish farm which was very interesting because it's the first time I've been to a fish farm. There are loads of fishies there. Even SHOOTING ones!!!!! (will elaborate on that further later).

Horse Shoe Crabbie!

Frankly speaking I never seen a shooting fish in my life. In fact I was never going to see one if it's not for this China tourist (who goes for mangrove swamp tours in big pink hats and colourful earrings *roll eyes*) who was squealing and screaming non stop. Her yells caught my attention and I turn to witness the shooting fish.

Check out the video of shooting fishes below. It's basically like this. The guy sticks a piece of bread to the side of the beam. And because the fishies like to eat bread, it shoots water at the bread so that it'll drop into the water. SUPER COOL!!!

Of course we had chances to see caves and rock formations and bats and more caves.

Langkawi after all is giving Unesco status for a reason.

The toilet in my hotel room is damn unique. In fact so unique I kinda didn't wanna shower in it the first day. The shower room is actually OUTDOORS. Walao, all the peeping toms in the world gets the privilege man. But after much convincing that NOONE will go to Langkawi just to peep at naked girls shower, I actually enjoyed the outdoor shower experience.

And while we were the, we manage to catch the fighter jets of LIMA (Langkawi International Martime and Aerospace something something) practising. Quite a sight. They were making upside down turns, and funny swaying patterns.

And I was such a tourist I took a gazillion pictures of them. Of course, the planes were all in minisizes. And there was one picture I thought looked like its from a movie poster, or some 2012 explosion in the sky or something like that.

Hehe. Sky explosion

I guess that's all from Langkawi. If you're interested in a REALLY ELABORATED post on our trip just check my sister's blog. She's a way more hardworking blogger than I am.

Adios.

When 2 girls meet.

I lost count of the days of my Holi-Week. But one morning, I had to wake up earlier than usual just to meet this little princess.

Riyanti and me

We had breakfast in NUS, and then, I had to head down to Harbour Front to pick up my childhood friend who is joining me for the remainding 3 days of my holi-week.

Since it was a little early, I popped by Candy Empire (which is my dream shop!) and started embracing my inner child.

CANDY!!

Bought loads of weird stuff. They even have Eclipse in Orange and Cinnamon flavour. Spend a bomb in there.

Jess was supposed to arrive around 1pm. So by 12.30 I was already waiting for her. Spotted a cruise departing and was all OMGBBQCNN and became a tourist on the spot.

Jess bus only arrive at 2pm leh. Wait till my legs become jelly d.

Even asked a China tourist to snap a shot for me. (but the girl damn lousy la, snap until her BIG FINGER cover 1/5 of the picture, I cropped it off)

I wanna go on a cruise someday!!

Me n JessJess

Since Jess is bunking at my Aunt's, it's only appropriate if I bring her to meet my Aunt formally. So we met them at Woodland point for dinner at Sakae Sushi. But poor me, only having breakfast with Riyanti in the morning with no lunch in the stomach the entire time, I decided to have "dou jiang you tiao".

Yum yum. Ngomngomgnom.

Let me formally introduce you to my 2 nephews.

This is Titus. I forgot how old he is. Few months old I think. Super adorable, super cute, super charming. And this is Kaizer. 2 years old. He is hyperactive, and cannot sit still. Very adorable too now that he can speak. He can talk quite a lot although his pronunciation is not very good. It takes him 3-4 repeats before I can get what he is saying.

This is cousin Jane. The mother of the two kids. I think, she is super awesome, being able to juggle her job, and 2 kids just like that. The 2-3 hours me and JessJess spent with them, the both of us were quite taken aback by how demanding children can be.

One start crying, the other start dropping his Jibbits. Oh gosh. I think if I ever be a mother I need crash course.

After dinner, me and Jess headed down to Orchad to see the Christmas decor lighting.

And we spotted this commercial in the MRT.

So cool!! They openly advertise it above everyone's head!!

I tell you ah. My this JessJess ah *shakes head*. First thing we did when we landed at Orchad was to shop in Cotton On. I was being dragged by her, and I got addicted, and I ended up spending a bomb in there. That was Cotton On in Wisma Atria. Then we walked and walked. And reached Cotton on in 313. And BUY SUMMORE. Well. I bought summore. Haihz. All your fault la JessJess.

And when we finally surfaced to the entrance, instead of Awww-ing and Ahh-ing at the Christmas Decor, JessJess totally ignored the Sg government's million dollar investment, and insisted having a picture of Chanel instead.

So cute la she!!

But I did the Sg Government some justice and be a good tourist la. Captured the lighting around. Well, I still prefer 2006's decor the best. And I don't like those plastic figurines around the road. They look freaky.

Spotted a mountain full of Ferrero Rochers. CHOCOLATE!!!!!!!!!

Fattening man.

Okay. Because the two of us are crazy shopaholics. I swear put us together and we're destructive!! I didn't buy anything the 6 days before she came, and I bought TONS OF CLOTHES the moment she landed in Sg.

We decided to buy another outfit, and change on the spot in the toilet of 313. Lols.

Before

After

Love you JessJess!!
