3rd time to the KKB

Most IMU students will have at least ONE chance, to whine about the small town in KKB. Oh yea, the town where you have to camp there for a week in either semester 3 or 4, feeding mosquitoes and getting haunted by rodents and cockroaches. The place whereby the hospital is non-airconned and you will need to clerk patients that have already been cured of their disease just for the sake of case presentation.

Yeapz, I am also talking about the place where you can actually bond with your friends for the week, making trip uphill to water damps, or waterfalls, or just hunt for ice-cream waffles.

This is my 3rd time to KKB. For an altogether different purpose. This time, it was to give some less fortunate people a more conducive looking home. We were there, to build toilets and paint houses for the orang asli's.

Thank god is was a cloudy day. But it still turned sunny by the time is was noon. And I personally didn't have much sleep the night before. I was practically zombie-ing throughout the entire painting ordeal. Nearly gave myself a few extra moles on the face (I was using brown paint you see).

The whole participation in this event was very random. I stumbled this project EPIC through a friend's friend's brother's blog. And since I am on holiday, I should be doing something useful. And charity is something useful. But I didn't wanna go alone. So I posted a shoutout on twitter, thinking noone actually bothers replying to something on twitter. But Mark replied me on twitter, and wholaa, 9 of us where on our way to KKB the friday morning.

There was also a toilet being built for the people. And we sat through a good whole half an hour listening to how the sewage system works. And how human pee will eventually become fertilizer for the plants. Interesting I must say.

We were all know as the "window" team as our job requires painting window and door frames. Funny thing was, there were eventually not enough paint to go around. Desperate people with desperate measures were trying to mix thinner/water/oil to make the paint last. But alas, we did manage to desperately use leftover paint trapped inside brushes to finish of our job. Hip Hip Hooray!!

The people from project EPIC were super cheerful. Everytime someone passed by, they'll shout a "omigosh you guys are doing such a wonderful job. Keep it up man!! Reward yourself with syrup alright. Superb!!" And my mind was thinking "I paint until so fugly very good job meh?". I guess its the volunteer-ism that matters, and the fact that we're being so contributive already renders our services as top notch quality. Haha.

I dragged my sister along so that I wont feel so left out among the m208's. Haha. (turned out she was quite sociable too. Hehe)

So after a long day, the toilet was finally ready for use. And houses were all covered with new coat of paint. I really hope those orang asli are happy with the new look of their homes. Hehe. Though the inside still looked somewhat unfit for a human being to live in. (I peeked). It was kinda dirty, and furniture-less. Wished I could do something about it rather then just feel sorry. But hey, some of them even have astro yoh! (way better off than me liao).

Toilet opening ceremony

Well, it was a good experience. I can now belt "house painting" into my resume liao. Nguahahaha. Contributing to society always feels good ain't it?

Kudo's!! *thumbs up*
ps: Enough with the drama already. I don't need my every move being scrutinized and then jeered at. It's not like I never tried blending in with them. But hey, look where it got me? So enough already. Give me back the peace I had before.

Coincidence

Ps : Editted grammar mistakes. Gosh this is what happens when you blog sleepily.

Let me tell you what coincidence means. It means buying too many cotton on clothes. Oh yea, seriously. And no I am not having a fever or being delusional.

On my trip back from Singapore I realise I have 2 identical cotton on black spaghetti's in my luggage. That's cos JessJess is a chronic cotton on lover. And happened to accidentally misplace her spag's in my bag. And thank god mine still had its tag on.

When I shop in 1utama, I have came across not once, twice, not thrice, not quadrupice, but hexagonice (six) moments where I spotted someone wearing something I owned. From cotton on.

And today at dance class, someone commented that I have a twin. Lolz. That's cos Chloe and I wore the exact same blue cotton on shorts, with a black shirt some more. Lolz. So so so so hilarious.

On the other hand, after 18th months, this is our first sticker picture. Gosh. The outdated disease has struck me in reality too.

Chain of events

Emotions are like water. One drop into it and it causes a wave to happen. And it takes ages to calm it down. Before you know it, the next drop is released causing an even bigger wave to be release.

And I am currently in love with this song.

Not really like me to like a song to techy like this one. But I really love the girl's part. Haha. Wha-Wha-Wha-Wha-What did you say?????

I showed this song to my sister, and she loved it too, except she keeps calling it the ONACHI song. Lolz. Cos on the radio it always sounded like "what's you say?, onachi always went weehhhh"

So I googled her the lyrics. And coincidentally I love the lyrics too. It's about a guy who cheated on the gf, and wants her back. Haha. Well. . . . .

Here's the actual lyrics lah this dumdum *sayang* sis.

[Verse 1]
I was so wrong for so long
Only tryin´ to please myself (myself)
Girl I was caught up in her lust
When I don´t really want no one else
So no I know I should of treated you better
But me and you were meant to last forever

So let me in (let me in) give me another chance (another chance)
To really be your man

[Chorus]
Cause when the roof caved in and the truth came out
I just didn´t know what to do
But when I become a star we´ll be living so large
I´ll do anything for you
So tell me girl

Mmmm whatcha say
Ooh that you only meant well?
Well of course you did
Mmmm whatcha say
Mmmm that it´s all for the best?
of course it is
Mmmm whatcha say
Ooh that you only meant well?
Well of course you did
Mmmm whatcha say
Whatcha say (whatcha say)
wha- wha- wha- wha- what did she say?

[Verse 2]
How could I live with myself
Knowing that I let our love go (love go)
And ooh what I do with one chance
I just gotta let you know....
I know what I did wasn´t clever
But me and you we´re meant to be together

So let me in (let me in) give me another chance (another chance)
To really be your man

[Bridge]
Girl tell me what to say I (say I)
I don´t want you to leave me
Though you caught me cheatin´
Tell me tell me what to say I (say I)
I really need you in my life
Cuz things ain´t right girl

I shorten lyrics to save space. Haha!! No more ONACHI k! Not Japonica!

It's about time I have a little blog revamp.

ANYONE WANNA DO MY LAYOUT FOR ME (FOR FREE)?!?!?!?!?!

I want something pink and purple. Or pink and white. Or just pink is fine. And I want it to be in the new blogger format, not the classic template (which is why I need help cos I am only pro at the classic template). And I want it to have a feed. And big ass portrait picture of me in the header, and I want it to look elegant and classy.

Sigh. I am just too lazy to go about figuring out the new template, hence the ol'2008 look of this blog.

And my comp lags like nobody's business. I WANT A NEW LAPPIE TOO!!!! I want the Mac Book Pro!!

ps : actually, anyone familiar with the html of the new updated template of blogger? teach me??

lol. lol.

Picture Diarhhea!!

Update : Tasted heaven earlier in the day, experienced hell at the end of the day. Such irony.
It's like the treasure chest I fought so hard contains nothing. Not even a piece of copper.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The last 3 days of Taiwan shall be described in the form of PICTURE DIARRHEA!!

We were back in Taipei before you knew it on day 5. Well, its really nice to be back in buzzing city for a change. Noisy cars, smell of pollution, sea of people and all. In Taiwan they have it lucky. New year hols is 3 whooping days. Bad news for tourist, because it means every single nice spot will be packed and jam, both human and traffic.

One of the tourist spot was the SunMoonLake. According to the tour guide, one part of the pond look like a cresent, and the other catches the sun's reflection. Hence the name. There's a temple there as well, which is nothing much of interest, except this adorable statue.

Its a real human painted in mud coloured paint. Hence looking like a statue. He does extremely cute movements and attracted a lot of attention! Kawaii-des!

There's also a visit to the peacock garden in our itenary. First time I get to see LOADS of peacocks roaming around, instead of just a pair which normally is seen in zoo's.

Someone brought a Husky to peacock land!!! (2nd attraction of the place).

And here comes the best part of Taiwan. Food!!!!!!!!!!! Yet another night market (FengJia University Night Market).

Big sausage wrap small sausage. The small taiwan sausage is wrapped inside a bigger glutinous rice sausage, and stuffed with pickles, onions, vege, chilli and bla blahs.

Same stuff sold in Msia

Cute lil sweet balls.

And of course, another best best best part of Taiwan would be SHOPPING!!!! There is WenPuFu and Ximending for that little activity. In WenPuFu, clothes are sold in plastic bags like this.

Such a headache to shop for anything. But nevertheless, we did manage to sweep loads of stuff. We had this "speed shop" policy, as we're only given an hour to scale the entire place. Gosh!! So, being efficient, we were literally speed shopping. Stop at one shop, use those power eyes to scan the items, if any is spotted, immediately import shopping troup (aka mom, and sis) to seek for more items, and then quickly haggle price, pay and then scoot to the next store.

Ximending is more like a open door Sg Wang. Haha.

For the elegant and high class who don't stoop to the Sg. Wang level, there is still Taipei 101 for all.

Cute right? The eyes and mouth spells the 101!!

This building took over KLCC to be the tallest building in the world some time back. Now its the 2nd tallest.

And the tree outside the building is my fave!!!! (Only for the brand) Maybe if I hug the tree tight enough will get the Tiffany Aura someday.

Well, another night market to end it all. Ximending is kinda like a semi-night market, semi-shopping area.
The best food there is the MEE SUAH!!! Totally own the ShihLin franchise in Msia. So damn yummy!!

And there is this unique thingi. VEGE + MEAT ROJAK.

You pick the vege, tofu, meat, squid, whatever you fancy into a bowl, they will snip up all the components into small pieces, mix it with some sauce, mix mix mix, then put into a plastic bag, give you a skewer to makan. Just like rojak. Kinda ewwww. I didn't try.

Well. That's all for Taiwan.

FOOD THERE IS HEAVEN!!

Lagginess And Laziness

I find it such a chore to update my blog nowadays. Mainly because I am usually occupied the entire day, that when I actually find the time to blog I just wanna sip grape juice ( Taiwan grape juice is my new Tea ) and  I watch series at home.

A more compact post on what has happened. Beside the 1281238710239823 holiday trips I take. Today (of rather Yday since its past 12) I just made a day trip to Penang. Nguahaha. Only my family can make Singapore/Penang day trips lor. Because only my dad is crazy enough to drive at 180kmph.

What else has happened? Can I do this in summary form?? ( does a 360 turn plus a matrix style arch to avoid incoming slipper throw )

Oh there is

Ian's Bday at WIP.

Korean BBQ @ DaoRae

KL Marching Band Opening Ceremony

Library (@ Curve) with the BFF JessJess

Another Penang trip few weeks back to see my little cute nephew

Mom's Bday dinner @ Palate Palate

Hehe. That's my summary. So now I officially cleared 6 pending posts. Ah, the laziness and the beauty of it.

Busy week ahead!! Gonna try be hardworking in bloggy world if I can.

Day 3 and 4.

Day 3 in Taiwan was greeted by darkness in our TouCheng Farm Stay. We had to climb out of bed at an ungodly hour just to go watch the sunrise (which was masked by the fog anyway).

Since CNY is now coming, I present to you an early CNY picture.
Oranges! (plucked on the way to the top of the hill)

After a few more pictures of the beautiful farm, we headed our way to HuaLien.

On the way, we dropped by a harbour front temple. Its a MaZhu temple, with a pure huge Gold Mazhu Statue, and a Jade MaZhu Statue. People who visit that temple usually buy gold to hangaround the neck of MaZhu. With time, the gold accumulated, and was melted down to make a huge huge huge statue.

As for the Jade statue, some Jade specialist imported a slab of Jade from canada and carved it.

Outside the temple there were stalls selling ice-cream popiah. Its called something-something bing in chinese. Hehe I can't remember.

Its SUPER NICE!!

Then we were brought to some factory to see statues of stones and marble and jade.

And then brought to the Taroko Gorge.

In Taiwan, people treat their dogs like their own kids. They bring them out to night markets in their prams, bigger dogs get furry coats to wear. The leash is made out of LEOPARD PRINTS FURRY SKIN.

Almost every store you visit, there is a dog yelping. At one stop where we stayed particularly long, I played with MoChi. (It was a mochi shop). Hehe

Night time program was to watch the Ah Mei aboriginal dance. Not really interesting. In fact I saw a few people snoozing away.

The only thing that got me going was me trying to snap a picture of one of the costumes.

Its a leopard print MINI SKIRT. and its on a GUY!

We should so integrate this culture into modern society Haha.

Night time was more night market shopping

And the very next day was GOOD MORNING FRESH AIR IN FLOWER FARM!!!

And 8 hours car ride to GaoShiong.

On the way we spotted the Buddha Head fruit. It looks like Buddha's Head. In canto its called the "hong mou lai chee"

Super yummy!!!

One interesting sight on the boring 8 hour journey. Our bus driver was addicted to Ping Lang. You know, the fruit of the tree that Penang was named after where in Malaysia indians chew on them till the whole mouth turns red.

And in Taiwan, they get girls to dress DOWN to sell it.

Such a sight. Lidet also can.

At the Dragon Tiger Pagoda (which is nothing much to see actually)
l
Another night market. At Liu He Night market. Once again, food is fabulous!!!!!!!!!!

Yum yum!!!

Ps : Honestly speaking, the day 3 and 4 were the 2 most boring days in my Taiwan trip. (except for the countdown on day 4.)
