It's about time..

... I started writing about Chinese "Niu" Year like everyone else. Have been going around facebook and blogs to wish OTHER people, yet my poor blog is deprive of it's CNY-ness. Tho CNY to me is boring.

*side track ranting*- careful when you file your nails. I was filing my nails and flooooop, the nail file slided across my poor finger. Now it's oozing red blood! =( and I'm running out of nails ideas. anyone?

*back on track*
Just like exams, CNY has a pre-period, and a post-period. Actually I can't really foresee how post-period is going to be besides being cooped up in the library.

Pre-Chinese New Year actually just mean decorating the house. And buying goodies.

My house revamped this year. New shade of paint, brown and white. My choice!!
New gate, wooden planks this time instead of prison like black iron
New colour for the study room, Sister picked purple.
New study chair. Comfy ikea Moses.
New CNY latterns, which made my house RED RED RED with its light.
New bedsheets, which are blue. (Sigh I wanted pink)

Lol. And CNY shopping cost us a bomb.

And that's not even half of the goods we're supposed to buy.

So this year, instead of going to Penang, we had our CNY in Johor Bahru.

This is a box of dried BBQ meat. "Ba Gua" A WHOLE BOX.

Actually to be honest, CNY is very very boring. There's really nothing much to do except watch TV and watch some more TV. Every possible entertaining area is close. Cinema's are packed. So we just watched more TV and play with my cousin-in-law's Ipod touch.

And my cousin saved the day with her camera. Now we can NEVER get bored with camera's around. *giggles*

My cousin's are so pretty right?!?!?

These are stolen off her facebook.

And on the first day of CNY itself, we visited the chickens in Kampar. My mom's side grandmother's house. Lol. "Kepok Kepok" Reminds me of the "Ji" ven. LOL. *hint*chocobo*
And on the 2nd day of CNY we were flying up and down to KL to send my daddy's boss off. And we ended up inGENTING HIGHLANDS!!!!!!!

And by the 4th day of CNY, I was cooped up at home doing my ECA form.

This is at 12pm noon.

9 hours later. at 9pm. Still working on it. So hardworking right?

Told ya my CNY is boring.

GONG XI GONG XI!!!

VAIn till caNnOt TaHAN!!!

I think you can start clicking the little red box with a "x" on the top right hand corner if you don't want to be bombarded with a lot of vain pictures.

No seriously, haha.

I actually have a lot of thing to blog about. CNY celebrations, dad's new car (oh yes you gotta wait for it), old town white coffee wannabe, eca headaches, and still KOREA which is unfinished etc etc etc. Always too busy and LAZY (nasty culprit) to start writing anything.

And when I do have the will to start writing anything, I end up writing none of the above, but something totally irrelavant and not even post-deserving. But don't care. My blog I write what I want. Lol.

First, I wanna write about my hair. As most people already can see, it's been dyed red again. (Advise for those who want to dye red. Red NEVER LAST!!! 2-3 washes become brown brown liao)

1st, the hair saloon guy made me super clamshell (lala)
He gave me semi brownish-fugly streaks. I almost fainted.

Then he added some red brown dye over my whole head. And whoalaa!!!!!!

This is the DAY I coloured my hair itself.

See today become like that already. No more red. Brown brown. Sighh. It's been 3-4 washed only.

Next thing I want to blog about is my vain-ness. No seriously. I was supposed to
1. Do PBL
2. Write ECA Form
3. Write Form B Narrative.

I end up editting my pictures. For god knows what reason made me suddenly side-track.

This picture is taken yesterday, before going to Wilkinson's open house.

Normal original picture. Taken by Sony Skinny Pinky.

Played around with the lightning, the shadowing and the tone. Made my skin look healthy tan instead of yellowy browny colour. So now my skin look RADIATING. Lol. And make my hair look darker, and healthier, instead of browny dry dry. (what to do normally don't look pretty enough)

Once's I'm satisfy with my skin and hair, I made my eyes more deep set, and my chin sharper. Then blur the ugly background of my room with the morph tool.

And then I add stars to make myself look like a STAR!!!!!! Nguahahaha, pretty until cannot tahan. So chio. I think you all also cannot tahan. I'm so VaIn.

If only I have the time I will be like Xiaxue and EDIT ALL MY PICTURES. Then I'll be super pretty. (what to do no money for plastic surgery)

note : I don't use adobe photoshop. Too complicated. I use a combination of tools. Do you know photobucket now also can play around with photo editting? Lol. Microsoft power point too. All noob friendly. Haha

Happy CNY!!

I tell you. I SoOoOo hate 8am classes!! It's so so so annoying because it spoils your whole body routine.

Previous Semester 5 batches had their classes at 4pm. My batch HAD TO BE SPECIAL. *groan, moan, abdominal stones!!*

Day 1 I left house at 7.15am. I figured that it would prolly take me the usual half an hour to reach uni. OH I was SoooOO wrong!! I took 45 mins, dashed up the four flight of escalator stairs, reached lecture hall panting, sat my ass down only to find Nilesh Kumar (my lecturer) start STRAIGHT AWAY.

Right, refusing to waste so much of my time travelling, I stubbornly woke up at 6am the next day, hit the road by 6.30am, and wholla, by 6.50am I was in uni. But that's not a feasible act to go through everyday. Because the very next day, I slept at 12, and I find it so difficult to climb out of bed at 6, and I snooze till 6.30am before waking up, and BAM!! its 7am when I leave the house. Another long hour to uni. Sighhh

Like today, I hit the road at 6.30am again. But it was so hard to keep awake in lectures. My body rhythm is screwed by my new timetable. Gosh!!

I am so glad I get to sleep in tomorrow. Ahhh, nice Saturday. And the whole week off. I really need it.

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR BY THE WAY!!!

I change my resolution

New year resolution number 3
--- Drive safely. Err errr, with no accidents???

I take back what I say about this resolution and MODIFY it to
--- Drive safely, without ME causing any accidents.

Because I deem it unfair to take the blame and the bad karma for breaking my resolution when it wasn't my fault in the first place.

And yes, I think you guessed it. MY POOR PROTON HIT SOMETHING AGAIN.

But this time, my car was stagnant. Like a statue, totally not moving. Poor proton is a magnet to calamities la.

Just 2 hours ago, I went out for a normal lunch break at the BIGGEST shopping mall in Sri Petaling. (damn small actually, with very scary car park). Was about to leave the place to head back for a nice heartful day of studying to make up for all the sleeping guilt last night, and BAM!!! Some ugly looking grey kelisa gos-tan (reverse) into my car. Blind fella. Give you mirrors don't know for what.

And my poor little proton, standing there stagnant and all, waiting for the ugly grey thing to moveout of the way so I can exit the building, kena smashed till its eyes bleed (headlamp smashed) and the front teeth all fell out (bumper dropped). Stupid kelisa has a smelly rear too, not to mention a smelly owner.

Smelly owner stepped out of her car, and falsely claimed "I pay mine you pay yours la, since we don't know who's fault is it" Gosh, my jaw dropped with a "clank" on the floor with disbelieved.

I called Daddy, who was in a meeting. And dealt with the rude smelly lady who's friend happened to pop by and nose around and scolded around too. Urgh.

Actually, thank god I have been in enough accidents so as not to get exploited by the situation. Rude smelly lady have to succumb to my demands and request in the end. Car's now in the workshop (stupid smelly workshop man super rude also --- eeshhh uneducated people)

Now I'm back in Uni furious and all. Hence, the post. Nice way to channel it heh??

Wow. First time kena accident but fault not on mine. TeeHee.

Awesome Cheap Shopping!!

Wow. Absolute Bazaar is awesome. I think I may need to go on a 10 month shopping break. Because I bought so many things I could never imagine how my wardrobe is gonna fit everything inside.

1st of all, here's the banner of absolute bazaar.

I had no problem trying to find my way there.

2nd, I had the golden opportunity to meet up with HueyNing whom I have not seen for ages!!!! Gosh I can swear she became twenty times prettier. Well lucky girl she, on holidays and all. Make me envy till my teeth all drop liao.

So. Armed with the proper attire. A spaghetti with a smocked bottom and jeans. Spaghetti so that you can try all the low cut dresses and not ask for a tube to go with it, and also drape all the clothes over you instead of queuing up at the dressing room, smocked bottom is so that you can quickly whip of the tried on garment without worrying about whipping off you top as well because it is nicely smocked at the bottom. =)

And jeans, so that you can match nice tops!!!

Ain't I pro or ain't I pro. *grins evilly*

So I rushed up and down from rack to rack just to sweep all nice clothes. I am surprised to see clothes even cheaper then those they sell online. Gosh. I am never gonna visit shopping malls ever.

I saw this dress online few days ago. And gosh, I liked it, but I don't think it's worth the price.

Gotta smudge the name up so that I don't get sued. Lol. I bought this very dress at the bazaar. For RM30 only. WoW. Whooping RM27 bucks difference!!!!!!! AMAZING!!!

And I saw another zebra top. And I really liked it. Knowing my I know I will simply sweep it off the rack without even thinking twice and PAY fot it then and there. Then I realise, hey, why not try bargaining. So here goes.

"RM25 for this top arh? Cheaper larrr. Can larrr"

And bam!!! RM20. For a nice kimono zebra top. Lol. Basically anything Zebra or leopard print will blow me of my feet. And FURRR. (such an animal-ist) But I swear I don't kill animals I don't buy real animal Fur. I was already keeping such a straight not-despo-looking face to refrain myself from saying "nevermind la RM50 also I take"

And so many nice tops were off for clearance. Pre-loved items going for RM5 per piece. Such a bargain.

It really made my WEEK after all the up down turns. And maybe, if I study really really hard, I'll reward myself to another treat when the next bazaar comes. Which is almost every month or so. Giggle!!

Me happy!

Food and delicacies.

I always have the habit to back log entries. And sometimes, WAYYY BACK. Shan't let that happen too often. Besides I was just about to write more about Korea, but didn't really know how to do so, because there are SO MANY THINGS. If I categorize into days, it'll be 7 entries.

And so I figured I'll break them down into 3 post. One already up, more like a summary of miscellaneous stuff. And this one, is gonna be about food.

Before I touch on food, let me tell you what inspired me to blog about food. Haha. This is so unexpected. Karmen's Kallesta. No seriously. I saw her shout-out on how Kallesta (which is a Tarantula by the way) is balding. And I went BINGO!!! FOOD.

How is that gonna link together? I'll tell you later.

So, one thing about visiting a foreign country, is to always try out their local delicacies.

Everyone knows this thing about Koreans. It starts with a "K". Yup yup. K..k.kkk....kkk... *come on getting close*... k....KIMCHI!!!!!

I'm not a very big fan of this spicy, cold, sour, salty mixture of a dish. In fact, I kind of think it slants more towards the disgusting side. And much to my annoyance, this cheeky little dish appears at EVERY OF MY MEALS. *pinches nose* Eww.

But Koreans love it. My tour guide seem to ask for refills 3 to 4 times throughout every meal, as though Kimchi is some kinda Malaysian Sambal Belacan. I bet poor Mr. Kimchi always feels inferior at my table because it always goes untouch by the end of every meal.

When you say "Korean Food", images of tatami tables with no chairs, a big pot for frying food in the middle of it, and a huge tube like structure hovering above it appears in your brains doesn't it? Yeapz, that's Korean BBQ for you. Which by the end of my trip, became pretty much something I was sick of consuming.

In my opinion, Korean BBQ is the yummiest meal. But it does comes in a lot of styles.

Seafood BBQ steamboat

Dumpling BBQ steamboat

Vegetable BBQ steamboat

Traditional Pork BBQ (which is the yummiest)

Actually I have no idea why they call everything BBQ (huo guo) because some of them are steamboat!!

And just like Japan, Seaweed is something you cannot avoid in Korea. Just like Kimchi. But thank god seaweed taste good. =)

The more interesting products would be the cactus range found in Jeju Island. Yes yes you heard me. CACTUS. The plant that has a fat body a lots of needles.

They have cactus chocolates, cactus sweets, cactus mask, cactus everything under the sun.
Cactus Chocolate

And of course, Korean mince meat noodles. Another yummy indulgence. And seriously a sinful one, if you know how much OIL OIL OIL they use.

Lastly, the most interesting meal of the day. Of the YEAR actually, because it is so, interesting. *this is where Kallesta comes in* Our kind tour guide told us that Korean love to indulge in raw food. and for us to enjoy to enjoy the same meal will cost us RM114. So being in a foreign land and all, nothing is holding me back. I mean sashimi, ebiko, all raw also what. No kick la.

I chipped in the RM114 (more like my dad did), and sat down in front of a whole array of any kind of seafood you can think of. Raw.

Now the Kallesta link. You know like how in Thailand people eat cooked insects, like fried ants, boiled crickets, maybe even Braised Tarantullas. (okay I'm pretty sure Tarantula's are too rare and expensive to be eaten), Korean and Japanese eat SEAFOOD RAW. Every kind of seafood. ANY thing out of the sea. R..A..W..!!

To think everything have to be eaten raw. Well, it was fortunate enough that that particular restaurant dealt with a lot of tourist, so they provided a steamboat BBQ pot for us, IN CASE. and trust me, the pot is VERY CONVENIENT.

The raw fish was delicious, raw squid taste like jelly, and raw shell fish is just plain disgusting (I nearly puked). Half way through my meal, the raw abalone MOVED. It was happily sliming in and out of its shell, unaware that its about to be in someone's intestines soon. I was grossed out to my max. Luckily the restaurant owner saw my freaked out face, and chopped poor abaloney into pieces and it stopped moving. And its quite yummy eaten raw.

The most horrfying dish was the octopus tentacles. Its kept MOVING!!! So I wanted to out beat it, I took one moving tentacle and chopped it up. *evil grin* Now you wont move at all. nguahahaha. BUT IT CONTINUE MOVING. even after being chopped. Gross.

Watch it watch it. Moving moving moving. And my tour guide happily SLURPPED it down claiming its the most delicious thing she ever tasted. EEEEKKKKKKKSSSSSS.

=) thats Korean food for you. I hope your appetite is still there.

Bad 2009 year

I take back what I said about 2009 being a good year. Apparently bad karma hits you when you think you can be a much better person. Like when you say "I will get A for exams" and karma deals with you by giving you a nice fat C because it thinks that you're trying to defeat fate and climb over its head.

I've tried being positive. 2008 was such a shit year but I stayed positive. I look back on positive things to make 2008 look like it's worth living. I have the hope that 2009 will become much better. Why must that hope of mine get shattered just at the start of it? Why won't God give me a chance to look at things on the bright side?

I even took a head start to making my year a better one. Started studying before school term starts, be more participative in universities event. Be more patient with people. Etc etc etc.

What do I get in return. My horoscope reads that my exam luck is down this year. Okay fair enough, I'll make it up with hardwork. So when I wanted to start studying TODAY, the freaking library was not open. Hows that for trying to think positive.

And what happens when I be more patient with people? I deal with more and more unreasonable people. Why did I previously mention that I think 2009 is a better year for me? because I met with a few of such people, and I happen to think, hey, don't spoil the start of the year, be nice. So I really thought that overcoming such obstacles will only mean less of those in the future. But what do I get, I get more and more of such unreasonable situations. So much so that the whole trying to be a better person resolution is failing. You know like how when your mean and nasty, people avoid you, so you don't get such people in your life. But when you're nice and all, people realise you are approachable and take you for granted kinda thingi? Then you get more of such people in your life, asking for favours, pleading for grants.

And I joined my first ever academic related activity in my life, thinking "hey, I could be more assertive, and my year will be a better one" only to realise I've got to do SO MANY SHIT for that activity. And when everything is done, and everything could have ran smoothly, because I've been thinking positively that the worse could not happen. THE WORSE HAPPENED. I have to go through yet another hassle because someone screwed up.

My oh my, my life isn't very exciting isn't it?

Please tell how to get through my misery.

The phrase "Spread the word"

Ladies and gentleman. Let me warn you of the power of the phrase "spread the word".

Never never never never never under-estimate it, nor dare you look down upon it.

It is astoundingly powerful.

Last Thursday was a secondary school reunion specifically for those who came back to Malaysia to enjoy the holidays from their respective Australian Universities. Me and WenXia wanted a small cozy reunion, so we planned it at a nice cozy cafe in SS2, expecting about 8-10 people to arrive.

Usually, when you mass send a message to different people, only half the amount turns up in the end. So there we go, WenXia and me, mass sending to about 8-10 people, expecting only 5 to turn up, we even said to each other, "if noone turn up only me you ChunHou WinYee also go on lar okay??"

Lo and Behold. Beware of the power of this particular phrase!!!

SPREAD THE WORD ALERT

Guess how many people turn up?
Not 5, not 8-10, not 5, not even 20.

TWENTY SEVEN. TWENTY SEVEN!!!!!

Thats why I call it a MEGA reunion!! Haha. But it was fun and I miss them already. And I manage to see those whom I haven seen since form 5.

I'll put pictures. My co-organiser. We high-fived super duper a lot of times because of the success rate of the organising! (her finger is covering her nose pimple!!)

The Gays
Yek Ying from M206 which finished her EOS5 that day and was busy "wishing" me luck for my EOS5. So nice of her right???

So many of us we need to use the other tables as well!!

This is WinYee!!!

She brought back my fave Nuts!! (for that Win I publish this post in blue for you)

Adios!

Korea korea Korea

Let me briefly summarize how Korea is like.

1st of all, the guys in Korea really has slit like eyes. Very small. Apparently Korean guys are very dominant. Extremely dominant in the house hold so much so that girls have to stoop their heads when talking to them.

2ndly, Korea is extremely cold. This time of the year of course. You'll just end up looking like a bundle in every picture. Fat bulky and clumsy.

3rd and the last. Food in Korea rawks, but it give you such a bad sore throat because it is either fried, grilled, or BBQ-ed.

It's been almost 3 years since I last stepped into KLIA. More like since I last checked into an aircraft in KLIA. My sister and I, we were like jakuns inside that concrete jungle. As though we never saw an air craft in our lifes before. That's how long it has been. Lol.
And if you think all these madness will stop at KLIA, think again. This was taken at the Korean airport. As you probably can tell, we were two little excited pigs who can't wait to get our ass freeze in the cold Korean air. Korea did welcome us well alright, it was one hell of a freeze that day. Coldest it seems for the past few weeks. Haha, always be careful what you wish for!!

So, a basic summary of Korea. We visited old Korean houses

Visited famous Korean filming studios.

We skiied.

We saw a football stadium.

We enter army tanks.
And we dressed up to look pregnant.

I met a new bf.

And we shopped.

Lol. Just a simple quickie. More to come when I have the time. Chiaos!!

A christmas delight.

May as well post this up today as well.

First of all, lets all give this two pretty ladies a round of applause.
*claps claps claps claps claps claps* Sook Yeen (my secret santa), and Chloe. The 2 organizers who made my Christmas eve eve a memorable one. After all their hard work, I daresay the event was a successful one.
Table decor, and presents!!!
Okay I'll make this quickie and post up pictures since Christmas is long over. =)

And me trying to be a santarina.
The gift from my secret santarina.
Oh oh oh, And I love wrapping presents, especially when I figure how to tie those funny funny cutesy ribbons. Giggles. And the whole gang of us. In our funny little head gears.
