The date 31st of August means nothing to me.
But being HERE! I realise I could have had the day off. Because now on 31st of August, I have to go to work. Which is kinda sad.
But, I get next Monday off. Because its Labour Day in America. Or rather Labor day without the "u".
This America spelling thing is driving me crazy, they are missing alphabets.
So, on this day that means nothing to me before, but means a lot to me NOW because I am Malaysian and proud to be one, I wish everyone
HAPPY MERDEKA DAY!

Saturday Out.
So I have been requested for a picture of my white coat.
Before that, let me just let you know. Our white coats are "pendek". Short white coats. They purposely make medical student's white coat shorter so that people can differentiate them from actual doctors.
But being a medical student is no easy-peasy so I'm wearing it proud. See how stuffed my pockets are. I carry EVERYTHING in the white coat.
I wonder if anyone realise that they have turned from grey to brown in colour. I did hear that Winter White Hamsters change colour when the winter draws nearer. Let me show you an old picture then you'll see what I meant..

With a better view of my name tag.
There you go. Request fulfilled.
So here is another weekend post. We had lovely Vi-Zanne over again. And we ate out. Some BBQ place which was expensive for the portion they served.
We chose to sit outside. And soak some sun. Been indoors too long skin turning yellow liao. Everyone was so happy. Smiling faces in the picture. Lovely!
Oh and I made Tiramisu for everyone. Making stuff is my hobby actually.
Still have 2 more cups in the fridge! Will be tonight's and tomorrow night's dessert after dinner.

I dressed up a little bit for the dinner outing because I figured my make up stuff will all expire before I even get to use it. And my earrings will rot due to neglect. Maybe I should dress up for rotations instead since everyone does that, but my mornings are always too in a rush.
Alright. Now. I know everyone is sick and tired of my hamsters. But everytime I pass by their cage, and play with them, they will show me this OMG-so-cute look. And I would be like OMG-I-must-snap-this-down mentality. So my camera is jam-packed with hamster pictures. And they are very very very cute. Gosh. SCHOOOOOO CUTE!!!!!!
Bombardation of pictures.

Their eyes are like SO SO SO SO BIG!!! Like SO SO SO SO BIG.
Queen say they look like bugsie in the Adam Sandler show. Forgot the title liao but he reads story books in the show and they all come to life.
Okie. Post of the week done.

Awesome =)
Here a song to share.
I remember the days where me and my friend (Li Xia) would sit at the back of the classroom, and print out the latest Jay Chou song lyrics, and try memorise the entire rap while the BM class teacher is giving us a boring BM lesson about meng-kan's and me-kan's.
Good ol'days. Am still a Jay Chou fan after so so so so so many years. Not as crazy as before. But still one.
Here's an awesome compilation of Jay Chou songs Li Xia posted on her facebook. And I am so so so amazed the song connected, the lyrics connected. Wow.

Pic of the day + cake.
Our usual TTD : Tai Tai Day.
We seem to be always making, baking, doing tai-tai things with Vi-Zanne. And she has every single thing in her house. Every single ingredient also her house have. Geng!
So it was baking day : brownie. I actually had no idea we were making brownie until Vi-Zanne arrived. Lolz.
So we had all the cocoa stuff, and all the baking stuff. And we all were happily watching Dare Devil on TV while the cake is happily sitting in the hot oven.
Remember I said Walgreen was on 5 bucks electrical appliance sale. My whisker!
Came in handy for the baking session.
The final product.
Hammie picture of the day.
Zomg why my hammie so cute wannn.... *leg wobbly melt to the ground*
Till now, I still think its the best decision I've made. They brighten my day up every single day. Just seeing them scratch their back or munch on nuts or chasing each other can make me smile.
I think its my hormones man. I wonder if people get so fuzzy and warm when they see animals running around. Lolz

Good ol Weekend
I am feeling the weekend chillaxing time out. Weekends are good for catching up with everything around. Sleep, cleaning up, cooking.
I just made the gooey-est lunch, but it shall last me for the next 5 lunches. Lolz. (Mushroom soup was on sale-no price to guessing what I made lolz).
So, the last weekend was a true break above all. End of shelf exams, 2 and half whole days. We walked all the way to Chinatown to catch dinner. Had lovely phat thai and tom yum.Taste just like home. Honestly, it was a Malaysian week for us. We had so many Malaysian dinners.
Okay. Gonna be a little bit jumpy in this post. Totally no structure.
Jazz concert after shelfs.
Pic courtesy of Amanda. We had nice drinks at a so called "Gay Bar" which serve lovely awesome Mojito's. No pictures of the guys. Go stalk on facebook yourself.
And then, Walgreen was on electrical appliance sale. And I went *big-eyed-crazy*. 5 bucks for everything. Rice cooker, toaster, whisker, waffle maker. And 10 bucks slow cooker, and blender. Gosh If only I did not already hav a rice cooker and slow cooker I so would have just save so much money. So then I need to rearrang my room furniture around so that the big table is near the electric outlet so that I can fit all the appliances on top.
And by doing that I may as well arrange all the food and snacks I have into one corner. And I was REALLY SHOCKED at the amount of junk food I have bought. No wander I gain 2 pounds. Like seriously I gain 2 pounds!
Now you know why.
Okay and now JUMP to a random topic. One of my babies is . . . . I won't call that sick. But more like, injured. Or rather, itchy. Hmmm...
So one day, I came home to see that Ferr (the hammie's name) is losing fur!! Around the neck area. So upon close observation, I realise she has been scratching her neck A LOT. So, differential diagnosis : 1) Fleas, 2) Eczema (allergies) 3) Physiological scratching. 4) Infection.
I don't think it is due to fleas, because the little thing has not come in contact with other animals (except for her sister), and the sister who share the same cage as her is not scratching at all. Can't be allergies too, because allergies will manifest as WHOLE BODY ICHING, not just the neck.
So throughout the week, I've been monitoring her. She went from losing fur, to scratchig her neck till it bled! And at one point of time there was a scab there from the wound, and she scratched that off too. Sigh. Now I don't really know if human antibiotics work on hamsters (I duwan to risk resistance). So I apply antiseptic cream on her neck 2 times a day.
See how my poor baby is suffering!!!!!!!!!!!!
If things get worse, I might consider bringing her to a vet. Although I don't think vets treat hamsters. And what the vet can do, I probably can as well.
Okay. Apart from the neck thingi, she is still very cute!!!
Cammy with mommy!

Malaysian by definition
You see, sometimes when you walk down the road, and you see something familiar, something you can relate too, your heart goes poppety-pop non stop, but you don't really want to jump up and down all over it, because other people cannot relate to it, and they are going to think you are a weirdo or a freak. Right?
So I was walking around in Chinatown, and I was shopping for my daily items, food etc etc, and suddenly my heart goes poppety-pop non stop.
I spotted a Malaysian favourite, and my grandma/mom's favourite dip-in-coffee biscuit which I never really fancy in Malaysia, because you tend to take things for granted. But now, I think its my favourite biscuit because its a rarity, and its expensive (duh, imported from Malaysia).

Old school Ping Pong biscuit. <3 Max.
It really reminds me of home. The smell of coffee every morning in the kitchen. The sight of my grandma sitting on the kitchen chair dipping ping pong biscuits into her coffee. How can my heart not poppety-pop no stop?
Biscuits apart, I have started on a new rotation. No more dealing with psychotic patients. Now its a whole new level of challenges --- Kids. Specifically crying kids. I have a feeling I will love this rotation a lot. Just one day of seeing a few kid SP's, and I'm thinking of it as a lifetime career. We shall see.
I have a whole team with me to deal with these crying little humans.
Meet : Mr MooMoo, Gloria, and Cherry Bear.
We shall rule the world (Peds dept) together. Lolz.
And to sum it all up, my Malaysian dinner for the night (been having a lot of Malaysian food lately - like how I once say, I will never get sick of Malaysian food, but I will get sick of Western food).
Bak Kut Teh!
Oh wait-a-minute. I still have yet introduced Marla and Caesar to everyone. Here a lovely clip on them . =)
I tell you they are 3 times this size now. How fast they grow!
Wokay. Adios for now!

One fine day, there was a lot of furr.
*warning !!!!!! Ultra super duper lots of furry CUTE-NESS coming your way. For the frail and weak, please do not proceed. For the droolers, please prepare a napkin. For the potential leg wobbler, please grab a chair. For the heart melters, please consult your cardiologist*
So. . . . . . . . . I hated the idea of coming home to a lifeless room. You know how you had a whole day at work, and you're kinda yearning for someone or something to come home to (bed doesn't count). And when you open your room door and switch on the light, you see . . . . . . . . . . . . nothing.
Initially I wanted to name them Huffie, Puffie, Snuffie and Muffie. But Zven keeps telling everyone that they are Marla, Caesar, Furr and Ferr. (if you're a non medical student go google pityriasis vesicolor)
So now everyone called them Marla Caesar Furr and Ferr.
I adopted them from a pet shop. Poor lil babies, barely 4 weeks old, and their big boss mommies thought they weren't well bred enough to be sold to the public and kept them at the store room with other poor not-so-pure-breed animals. Fortunate for them, mommy aka mua found them and they are so ADORABLE. I wanted to pick two out of five brother and sisters for myself. But this soft-hearted zven can't stand their cute-ness and adopted two for himself too. Lolz.
So I picked four lil babies. Leaving their one sibling behind to accompany their mom. (the one sibling was brown instead of grey, and kept wanting to bite us, part of the reason why it didn't get pick).
I bought them a nice pink cage, zven later on bought a nice transparent cage, throw in some bedding, add a wheel, and threw in a paper cup for them to cuddle and sleep in. We later on separated the males from the females after much help from google. (We stared at their pat pat for minutes to figure out which one is of which gender).
So let me show you my girls. They are called Furr and Ferr. Honestly, they both look the same to me. So the two names who sound almost alike works for when I call them . And they respond to their name very well too. And also "hamham" cos I call them "hamham" more than "furr/furry".
They know when I come home from work, and they run to the cage door, because I normally give them food then. Kinda like Pavlov's dogs, they also undergo positive reinforcement and some conditioning. Haha. At least they now don't bite me. So I always pick them up to play.
Now I am not very sure if they are Campbell hamsters or Winter Whites. I guess come winter we'll know for sure.
Ham-hammies wave byebye!!
Now I is a happy girl everyday of the week.

And when you open your room door and switch on the light, you see . . . . . . . . . . . . nothing.
Four walls, some furniture, some food. That's it. Pitch silence. No sound of life except for the buzzing heater and the air vent. (dead chicken in freezer don't count either).
Life is so sad.
And then, after a brilliant decision, every time I open my door and switch on the light right now, there is this faint background noise, scuttling noises, chewing noises, and the wild spinning sound of a cranky wheel spinning.
Let me show you my babies.
Initially I wanted to name them Huffie, Puffie, Snuffie and Muffie. But Zven keeps telling everyone that they are Marla, Caesar, Furr and Ferr. (if you're a non medical student go google pityriasis vesicolor)

The last bit.
I am lazy to blog. But I feel the need to post pictures up. Pictorrhea again?
#1. Lelewela
#2. The falls so magnificent.
You gotta salute the people running the tourist industry. They make so many different type of attraction based on the same concept. Instead of making a bridge and letting people see the big magnificent falls, and have people go WOW and then go home, they make a bridge and have people WOW, built a cinema and make people go WOW, make elevators and stairs and have people go WOW, then even build a boat and make people go WOW. And not to mention a gift shop which made me pseudo-wow-ed.
So you get to see Niagara falls from the side, from the bottom, from a boat, on a cinema screen, and on a postcard which is shiny and glows.
You know whats the similarities between a fish and a girl??
They WOW at shiny things.
End of Niagara Falls. Period.
But not the end of our trip though. We still had one more day in New York where we had awesome big chunky satay which is not even remotely resemble our Malaysian satay, but good in a different way nontheless.
And last itinerary before we caught the bus back to the not-so-city-Philadelphia.
To see the mother of all up skirts. "quote zven"
Guys mind sometime ahhhhh . . . . I tell you . . . . . . . Got nothing to see also wert . . . . . . . .
But nevermind. The crowd was CRAZINESS LONG-NESS I TELL YOU. Thank god we were there super duper early.
There you go. One nice picture that is not upskirt-ish in any way.
There was a Manhattan skyline picture. Notice what's missing in the actual skyline as compared to the picture????? (hint : Ground zero - if you dunno go google)
Wokay thats all. Byebye!
