swisssy gardenn

Daddy planned a short family getaway for some relaxation on his part. And some family-bonding as well, this time, it was at Swiss Garden resort, Lumut.

To be honest, I didn't find this trip as exciting as Pangkor, but a holiday is a holiday, meant for enjoying yourself regardless. Stress-free, studies-free, work-free, oh.. and make-up-free too (pardon my fugly make-up-less pictures)

And the best part was, this time we were all treated to a one hour spa massage.

Of course I couldn't take pictures of my undergoing the spa massage cos that would be posting half naked pictures of me, so pictures of the place will do.

It's under Samsara of course. Samsara spa they call it. Apparently they have branches in Penang, Kuantan and some other states in which I am not too certain of.

Anyways, the lobby of the hotel serve free drinks to all their guest, but be forewarned that the drinks aren't exactly the nicest drinks on earth.

Pelaga juice was extremely yucky, taste like grass, those rottened grass. But my parents say they kick ass, I think their taste buds needs examining. Pandan tea was ok ok. At least not grass-like-tasting.

No complains about complimentary stuff, it's your choice whether to be greedy or not. Haha.

As I am a little lazy to be descriptive about this trip I'll just overload the post with pictures and pictures!!

In dire need of looking pretty

I have this sudden urge of dressing up in a nice beautiful gown and splatting on 5 inches thick make up and go some where glam and stylo.

But you tell me where on earth in Malaysia is glam and stylo that requires dressing up besides the MPO???

You think people would be able to accept if I walked the aisle of One Utama looking like I am about to attend a prom??

*slaps slaps*

I dream too much sometimes. Really.

Anyways, I had a sisterly berbonding session with the sister last Sunday. It was supposedly a sister-ly swimming together to lose fats and then go for jacuzzi to relax session. But daddy and mommy tagged along in the end, making out swimming session a daddy teach sister to swim while I syiok sendiri while mommy act as tai-tai at the side.

But the jacuzzi was sisterly berbonding session alright.

If only I own a jacuzzi I could bring all those flower petals scented oils and yada yada's I could make my own spa.

And guess what I did after a whole morning of pampering relaxing swimming and jacuzzi-ing???

I slept the whole afternoon.

LoL.

More of CNY

Chinese New Year is all about giving. Adults giving ang pao's to kids. Elders giving their blessings.

Well, and also giving away to charity. So here we are at charity homes. Dad is a strong believer in religion and karma. The more you give, the more you get. Also, the more good deeds you do, the more luck you'll have. Or something like that, which is why he always help charitable organizations whenever he can.

And more temple visits. Only difference with this one, is that it's in Banting, not Penang, and it's very beautiful. Almost as beautiful as Kek Lok Si.
If you have not visited the Dong Zen Temple in Sungai Jenjarom, Banting, this Chinese New Year will be a good time to enjoy its ambience and attractions. This place is always very nicely decorated with big red tanglungs all over the place.
Tang lungs everywhere!!Amazingly beautiful main hall.

This place even has one of the many rare buddha's relic found in a sacred hall. A must see for all buddists.
PINK PINK PINK PINK PINK dragon!!!

One of the few amazingly pretty decor.

On a very unrelated note, this post marks the beginning of a new uni semester for me. Classes officially starts tomorrow. Kiss a big good bye to my 2 plus month long holiday. Hopefully tomorrow is the start of a good term in uni. No conflicts, no stress, no pressure, (not too much lah) and no whatever makes people sad.

Chinese New Year

Some how, Chinese New Years always remind me of Penang. Yea yea, the tiny wee island in which people always call the "Pearl of the Orient" up north.

When I was young I really looked forward to CNY very much. I'll be this restless kid at the back of my dad's car asking "are we there yet?" like umpteen times. And even if I fall asleep or anything, I would make sure my dad woke me up to watch the Penang bridge whenever we pass it. Plus, I'll always hope there is some car accident to stop the traffic so that I can get a longer look at the beautiful third-longest-in-the-world-bridge. Somehow, the bridge is sorta like symbolic to me in the form of "Angpow's are coming I'm home"

Man, those really are the days. Now I wouldn't give a damn even if there's a freaking jam on the Penang bridge, my eyes would still be glued to my ipod watching "House" (which by the way is a really bad idea cos the car is so shaky and the ipod screen is so pewny it makes me feel nauseous but I really got no choice else I'll feel bored to Death *no swears on CNY* crazy!! ).

This year's CNY is somewhat a little different to me, I guess. I mean how often do you get to celebrate CNY with a good Jay Chou movie airing on the 7th officially (which is a blast, I mean anything with Jay is good).

Right lets get straight to my point. I'll illustrating how my CNY went instead of ranting useless thoughts. Day one of CNY was so normal, it could've been abnormal. Well, its abnormally normal. (it amazes me how things could still go on with the same routine year after year after year)

And oh well, since I am on the subject of Penang, I shall do a little introducing about Penang. Them temples in Penang at least, since everywhere else is probably close. ( I know I know, Penang's about food, not temples).

1st up we've got the "Tian Gong" temple ( or so I think it's called).

Its settled up on a little hill, which makes it very scary to drive up. Not many tourist visit this temple, but its more of like a, ritual thing for my family to pay a visit.

Then, we've got another temple, in which name I can't seem to remember. This temple is more for people to place the ashes of their dead-loved-ones. They were distributing some kinda advice in a ang-pao and I took one. Guess what mine says?

Translation : In life, think more for others, think less selfish thoughts, think more of ___ ( I don't understand that word), think less of vengence and hate, and your own personal space will increase. ( Note: the paper is PINK!!)

***A little cam-whore picture in between visits to temples.

And of course. A visit to the world famous Kuan Yin temple is a must.

This temple is built in 1801, and is the oldest temple in Penang. It is a tourist hotspots, and lots of Ang Mohs can be spotten with their huge Nikons swarming the place.

Ancient old temple ceiling
Joss stick holder ( whatever you call that. -- gotta make sure hand doesn't get burn when u plant joss stick there. )

And look at those huge huge giant sized joss sticks.

And mind you, the KuanYin temple is always smoky all the time. People who enter usually end up tearing when they come out due to the vast amount of smoke particles entering their eyes.

And last but not the least. Famous Kek Lok Si.

This place is always very beautifully decorated during CNY (in which I guess not many people has the chance to witness since they'll be busy in their own hometowns.)

Right. That's all about temples.

Here's a little sometime on what's been going in in my home for the past few days.
CNY DECOR!! More like Me and the Decor!!
And for the New Year, I've decided to try on a new pair of contact.

Yeaps, this particular one, but tell you one thing. It looks REALLY GOOD on the model. But the effect ain't the same with me.
And the contact are freaking BLACK!! scary!!

Oh well, at least it gave me the license to carry out the puppy dog look, since my pupils are bigger, so maybe it'll gimme a puss-in-boot effect.

Nah, I don't think so.

Thats all for now. Gong Xi Gong Xi!!
